Family

The Defilippi - i Gessi winery was founded in Oliva Gessi more than a century ago, in 1907. Today, the management of the vineyards and the winemaking process take place according to the most modern technologies, in full respect of the environment and tradition.
The family, now in its fifth generation with Federico and Alessandro, is the beating heart of the company. Tradition and passion, qualities that have always distinguished the family, are fully transmitted by Emilio and Fabbio who control and coordinate all operations, from the vineyards to the cellar thanks to their long experience.
Oliva Gessi is a small jewel, located on the green hills of Oltrepò Pavese, between Casteggio and Montalto Pavese. The clayey and calcareous soil and the particular climate are perfect for the cultivation and production of noble varieties such as Riesling Renano and Pinot Noir. Furthermore, among our products we cannot forget: the sparkling wines (méthode champenoise), the pinot grigio, the pétillant croatina and Fasarda where croatina grapes wither in the vineyard.
